Back for more than just the reunion tour, Oasis have recently launched a brand-new charity initiative, titled "Project Rock N’ Roll Stars", designed to put instruments into the hands of kids in UK schools and bring music back into the classroom.
The Mancunian rock icons plan to raise money by selling fine art prints of handwritten lyrics taken from some of Oasis’s biggest tracks - the likes of Wonderwall, Don’t Look Back in Anger, Champagne Supernova, Rock ’n’ Roll Star and Stand By Me. 100% of Oasis royalties from the prints, which equates to 50% of all profits, will be funnelled directly into funding school donations, with the aim being to give pupils who might never otherwise touch an instrument the chance to play, perform and connect with music.
Adding to what has already been a huge year for Oasis, with the band conquering the UK and North America through a run of acclaimed live shows, they still have dates ahead in Asia, Australia and Latin America, plus two enormous sold-out nights at Wembley Stadium this weekend. To top it off, they’ve also released an unplugged version of Morning Glory as part of the 30th anniversary reissue of (What’s The Story) Morning Glory?, alongside four more stripped-back cuts from the classic record.
Prints will be available to purchase up until 25th November and can be bought here.
