Nova Twins announced as Music Minds Matter ambassadors

Music Minds Matter has announced rock duo Nova Twins as new ambassadors.

The registered charity announced the London duo of Amy Love and Georgia South as new ambassadors on World Mental Health Day (10th October). 

The announcement comes after the Musicians' Census found that one in three rock and alternative musicians report low mental wellbeing.

Nova Twins have been outspoken about the need for better mental health support in music, releasing the single 'Monsters' this year, which touches on themes of mental health.

Nova Twins said, “Being in a band is amazing, but it’s not always easy. The industry can be all-consuming, and life on the road can take its toll. We want to help create a healthier and more supportive scene, whether that’s for the bands, crew, or wider team. 

“By teaming up with Music Minds Matter, we’re hoping to shine a light on support systems that exist and explore new ventures that could be put in place, so that artists and crew can keep thriving, on and off stage.”

Music Minds Matter Chief Executive Sarah Woods said, “Raising the profile of mental health and how we can work together to make a difference across the industry is key to reducing the prevalence of poor mental wellbeing, both within the artist community and roles that support it.”

Music Minds Matter is a registered charity that supports the mental health of everyone working in music, including a 24/7 helpline and text service, online events, and digital resources.
