New Japanese inspired bar and café has opened in Liverpool

Kiku Hifi has recently opened on Gradwell Street in Liverpool, created by the team behind the Tokyo-inspired venue, Suono. Coffee shop by day and a listening bar by night, Kiku Hifi is inspired by the Japanese cafés that specialise in playing jazz music on premium sound systems.

Kiku Hifi will be open between 9am-11pm from Sunday to Thursday and 9am-12am on Fridays and Saturdays. Serving a menu of cocktails, wines and beer in the evenings, the venue will have live music from resident DJs serving hifi sounds.

It’s been announced that DJ Pooky from Bonsai Hi Fi Sound System will be playing on Friday nights till late. DJ PJ Smith will be playing on Sunday mornings through to the early afternoon with fresh pastries and coffee roast from independent women-owned business, Little Moments. 

On Kiku Hifi's Instagram, they shared, “You can expect an analogue sensory experience based on the Japanese Kissaten and Jazz Kissa coffee shops. Distinct from modern global coffee chains, they offer intimate, retro atmospheres focused on hand-crafted coffee, attentive service, and a relaxed pace. We have purposefully selected natural materials, meaning lots of wood and leaves, incredible sounding vintage Hifi equipment, locally based pastry makers and of course the coffee.”
