Modify Hits Back In Newcastle

Back in 2010 two brothers from Durham Andrew and Gavin Charlesworth saw a gap in the market for fresh and funky house music nights.

Andrew said ''We both love house music all genres, but every night we went to or saw was typically playing deep tech house and they were very similar. My bro and me have always loved jazzy, funky vocal house with a melody and decided we should start up a night''

Modify started out as a after hours club in a restaurant in Durham and the boys later progressed onto bars and clubs and featured their nights every month. Modify Bros also played at many nights across the North East outside of the night Modify.

After 2 and half years at the most recent venue (Mimos) in Newcastle Modify was closed after the summer of 2015. The nights had been very successful and they had featured some big name DJ's along the way from Retro, Hed Kandi and even seeing the one and only Allister Whitehead hit their decks. However the boys needed to concentrate on their careers and both now have children with their respective partners.

So Modify returns in 2017 for a 1 off special on Friday 30th June. Gav said ''We both wanted to get back to running the night but due to personal commitments thought 1 off was the way to go. We started viewing venues in Feb 2017 and settled on The All Seeing Eye at the end of March.''

The All seeing Eye set in the centre of Newcastle is situated above the popular bar Perdu. Andrew comments ''The venue is awesome and its such a hidden gem in the centre of town, I know the punters will love it, not too big not too small - will be great for creating a intimate vibe! We can't wait!''

Modify after what sound like a well deserved break is back so this is one not to be missed, they have full line up of DJ's and a live PA from The Digital Movez Feat Leanne Lawson to boot. It'll sure to be a good night.
