It has already been a bit of a disappointing year with Sheffield losing one of its most important grassroots venues; however, The Leadmill refuses to go out without doing what it knows best. Later this month, on Friday 27th June, iconic indie singer, Miles Kane, will be helping The Leadmill bid farewell with a last ever gig.
After being denied an appeal against its eviction notice from the Electric Group, which resulted in The Leadmill only having three months to evacuate, they are hoping to show what an amazing 45 years it's been.
The singer/ songwriter will be headlining the show with his backing band, where fans will be able to join in on the heartfelt goodbye to one of the most legendary independent venues. This will be a huge yet emotional gig, with Kane having performed at The Leadmill multiple times in the past. Kane took to social media, saying, 'The Leadmill takes its final bow, and I’m honoured to play it out'.
Though this comes as a bittersweet moment, The Leadmill will also be having a last dance on Saturday 28th June 2025, which will be the final ever event held inside the venue. Tickets will be limited with only 900 available so this is not one to miss.
