Micron Bow Out With String of Farewell Parties

It's had a good five year innings, but Manchester party night Micron is hanging up its dancing shoes and dropping the curtain on its monthly knees up at Joshua Brooks.

But in true Micron style, it's not going quietly. The much-loved night will be saying goodbye with a handful of closing parties between now and New Years Eve - including a huge birthday party with their biggest line-up ever!

For Micron's 5th (and final) birthday party they've called on the help of Âme (Innervisions/Ostgut Ton) and The Revenge (Dessous/Disco Deviance). No blurb needed as these guys are massive, and of course with the capacity at just 400 it will sell out in advance.

When Micron play their final tune in the early hours of next year, it will be the end of an incredible five (and a bit) year adventure. From their first, jam packed night at Joshua Brooks in November 2006, the guys caught an instant vibe. After hitting every party and festival in Manchester they built residencies in London and Moscow, via DJ Mag awards ceremonies and visits to remote Russian festivals, Indian Beaches, Exit Festival and bonkers Dutch boat parties. 

This is what the organisers had to say about it all:

"Some rules were agreed at Micron’s inception. Excellent music, naturally. But FUN seemed to be missing in Manchester at the time. All a bit serious. Loads of chin strokers. So we ripped the piss out of ourselves and that seemed to work. Luckily, people seemed to like that and we were immediately and consistently blessed with our very own wonderful, loyal, sexy, fun crowd. We owe them everything and we love them all."
