The summer is nearly upon us, even now as I sit and watch the world go by I can feel the sun beating down on my arm. Admittedly it was snowing only last week, we can but look forward though to a beautiful summer.
Whether you are going to be enjoying the English weather this year, or jetting off to destinations afar, here is our selection of restaurants in Manchester to brighten up your day the Mediterranean way...
Bacchanalia - Chapel Walks
In a quiet setting just off teeming King Street, Bacchanalia is, as the name suggests, a haven for Mancunians who want to gather together and have a good time.
Clean, modern lines keep the restaurant calm and congenial, although the mood turns more upbeat in the evening when locals crowd into the downstairs bar.
Cuisine is a mixture of Mediterranean brasserie and English classics, served from the buzzing open kitchen.
The Northern Quarter
The Northern Quarter is a bright, good-looking restaurant set in the edgier part of central Manchester from which it takes its name. The interior is stylishly welcoming, with white walls, glossy surfaces and a pleasant, relaxed vibe.
However, the restaurant's real strengths lie in the robust flavours of classy Mediterranean-inspired dishes such as slow roast lemon and thyme poussin with chestnut and redcurrant stuffing.
La Viña - Manchester
With its rustic wooden furniture and mellow walls, La Viña is a warm and welcoming traditional Spanish wine bar and restaurant in the heart of Manchester's buzzy Deansgate area.
An appetising menu features home-cooked Iberian specialities, including tapas, paella and platters of dry cured meats and cheeses.
There is also an extensive range of native wine, sherry and cava on offer to round the meal off in its entirety.
Grado - Piccadilly Plaza
Situated in the heart of Manchester City Centre, Grado is a eclectic mix of regional and new wave Spanish food.
Opening all day serving tapas, hams, paellas, spit roast meat, grilled fish and clay baked flat breads. What's more it's a Heathcotes venue, which with their ethic of quality fresh ingredients provides you with superior quality food whatever your dining experience - satisfaction guaranteed.
Of course there is plenty more too choose from, these are just a few of our favourites. You can find a Mediterranean Restaurant in Manchester by browsing our new restaurant guide - and don't forget to leave us a review!
