For our first party of 2016 Maasai will be hosting a warehouse party at the unique venue of Studio 24, this is hidden gem in the heart of Leeds city center, With its industrial features and rustic wooden bar area it has a relaxed unpretentious vibe and offers a refreshing change from some of your more traditional spaces.

First on the bill we welcome Liverpool based Alisha Lawler known for her varied taste for many styles of music derived from house, tribal house, and progressive and finally her focus and commitment in 2005 set to Techno. Her vinyl collection began to take form and consisted of various labels more known for their acid sounds such as, Raw Recordings, Stay Up For Ever, Glitch and Hydraulix and it was through these labels as well as seeing the likes of Dave Clarke, Dave the Drummer, Joey Beltram, Alex Calver, Chris Liberator, A Paul influenced her to delve deeper into the industry.

Back in 1999 Alisha stumbled into the DJ world by accident and hasn't looked back since. Big fan of Cream, Buggedout and Voodoo her passion as a DJ evolved. She delved into the music business owning her own record shop and DJ training / music production facility and later ran her own nights in Liverpool. She has played at Detached, Dubtek, Code (Leeds) Aum (Birmingham). Taking a back seat she has been working hard at producing and setting up her own label, whilst juggling being a full time mum and working as a graphic designer, her passion and commitment to the scene still takes place helping others with their own music projects has been something Alisha has always committed to.

Second on the bill is Manchester based DJ/Producer Josh Hussaney, Josh is fast becoming a star on the music scene. His 1st releases 'Burnin' featured on the legendary Roger Sanchez podcast and then went on to top the charts on Traxsource. Also signing tracks to Conkrete, Audio Whore, Foreign Language, Josh has had great support from Marco Corolla, who hammered the Scurrilous remix throughout the summer and also support from Horse Meat Disco & Riva star, we expect great things from Josh in the future and look forward to having him play for Maasai.
