Long-running Glasgow dancing den Kokomoko have announced its closure after 12 years, with its final event taking place this weekend on Saturday 1st November.

Announcing the news on social media, the West Regent Street venue wrote, “Kokomoko is closing its doors from Sunday 2nd November - but not before one last weekend to remember.”
Opening in 2013, the 400-capacity venue has long entertained patrons and hit the headlines after hosting Madonna’s private party in 2015. The closure comes mere months after Kokomoko was put on the market for an annual rent of £95,000.
Kokomoko went on to write in its closing announcement that “This isn’t goodbye without a party. It’s your final chance to dance under the lights, sing your heart out, and make one more legendary memory where it all began. Let’s send Kokomo off the only way we know how - loud, wild, and unforgettable. Join us for the one last dance on Saturday 1st of November from 10pm!”
