London Museum launches search for emerging DJs ahead of new late-night series

The London Museum is inviting emerging DJs from across the capital to apply for a year-long residency as part of a brand-new late-night event series.

The ‘Sound of London Collective’ will bring together 12 up-and-coming selectors to provide the soundtrack for the museum's new after-hours programme when it opens at its new Smithfield site in Farringdon from Saturday 28th November.

Successful applicants will receive a year-long contract, earning £250 per set while playing around one show each month. They'll also take part in professional development sessions, receive new promotional photography and collaborate with fellow members of the collective through a series of artist workshops.

The programme will begin with a welcome session led by legendary London reggae DJ, MC and promoter Don 'Papa Face' Facey, giving participants the chance to learn more about the city's rich soundsystem culture.

Open to DJs playing any genre, applicants must be over 18, have the right to work in the UK, live in one of London's 33 boroughs and have experience performing to live audiences.

Applications are open until Friday 14th August, with the chosen DJs set to soundtrack the museum's new late-night programme throughout the following year.
