The Review?. And that?s where the fun begins?.so we meet up in the Orford Hotel......a quaint community pub in the heart of Orford ?.7 pm for 7:30 pm start. It?s the landlords Chris first attempt at a Murder Mystery evening and there?s a feeling of anticipation in the air?.who are the guests, who are the other characters, how will the scenario pan out. Warrington might be a small town but it?s sp...read out and I was amazed at how many people I knew were signed up to the event?.there was the D.A.D.s café team?..that?s 5 Huntley Street, WA5 1EQ?..and Carol?.not sure I could manage one of those belly buster breakfasts but one day I?m going to give it a try. Check them out on Facebook at D.A.D?s Café. Carol brought along her entire team of support staff or at least it felt that way, which isn?t a bad thing for a first ever event as there?s some immediate interaction going on as people ease into their roles or keeping in character that would be sleaze into their roles. First of all let me say this isn?t an event for the faint hearted or anyone of a too innocent disposition; it?s Hollywood style scandal with a big bold underline of the scandal part. Of course things don?t get out of hand but let?s say with a bunch of adults the language can get a little colourful?.it?s role play after all luvvies. Additional to Carol?s team we had myself and Mr Comedy himself David Appleton?.ok and the guy in the white blazer playing Hunter Starr?.sorry mate?.I completely missed your name. So off to the break out area as we arrive?.complimentary drink from the bar on the way through?..and we mingle and chat?.slipping in and out of character as the conversation dictated. That?s one of the things about such events I think it?s important to allow that get to know one another session first so we can all put the character and faces into context both in role play and an element of real life. Of course it?s not role play without the dress up and there were some amazing turn outs?.especially the girls who had to play some of the guy parts?..I do hope that tasch faded before you woke the next morning Jane. But every one made the effort to dress the part?.even I managed a suit and dress shirt and that never happens?.just ask the missus. I got to say that for someone who says they are uncomfortable in dresses you looked wonderful Carol and no Deborah didn?t bribe me to write that......but if she sees fit to return my $200 ?.. Anyway so we mingled, got into the swing of things, Tracey the Landlady stepped up to the challenge of directing (bad choice of word given the subject matter) the action from initial introduction through the strategic plot developments. And very soon we were off collecting gossip and completing the unique individual tasks our characters were to perform. This carried on into dinner at which point we were whisked into breakout area number two for the Christmas meal. I?m going to say it was a fantastic three course meal followed by cheese and crackers?..I went for the Pate (gorgeous), followed by the Roast Turkey with all the trimmings (Delicious) and finally the chocolate cake with cream (licks lips). I got the feeling from everyone else that they all thought the same so hats off to Chris and his team for that?..I so need to try out the Sunday Roasts. After dinner it was back to the murder, mystery?..and onto the actual murder?.of course I can?t say who got murdered or who done it??but I can say you deserved it you bitch!!!! Ooops sorry still in role play mode. So lights out?.thud?.lights on?..body on the floor?..She?s dead Jim?.well she should have been but there are some corpses you just can?t keep quiet?lol. So another round of envelopes and more tasks as we try to discover the murderer?..lots of motives and lots of encouragement to perhaps bribe other characters for information?.okay everyone and potential point for future games?..don?t hold onto your money?.there?s an award for one with the most money at the end of the night?..so no-one wants to part with any?.well not until the last phase when it dawns on everyone that no-one can win if no-one spends. With the interrogation done it?s over to revealing who the murderer is and why?..I so thought I had this figured out?..and was I way off the mark but then so was everybody else?..yay for team work. So finally with awards given we wrap the evening up?..Carol gave her team an award winning accolade and we thanked the hosts for a great night and some fantastic food. So a big thank you to: Carol Kilgannon ? Dana Darling Deborah Maher ? Jada Broken June Swindells ? Ok just who the hell were you playing? Laura Selby ? Angel Wood Dawn Wright - T. Redd Kross Joanne G Whittle ? Natasha Gibson Linda Evelyn Sykes ? Penelope Hughes Dennis Kilgannon ? Hobart Hughes Rose Hadcroft ? M.C. Award David Appleton ? Brady Comeback And the guy in the white jacket - Hunter Starr Of course as is usual at such events I can?t leave without thanking myself Graham Burnikell for performing wonderfully as Ward Winner. And I?d just like to say a tear filled thank you to my mom, dad, kids, cats, dog, blah, blah, blah??Gwyneth Paltrow eat your heart out!!! ?.and I think after that I deserve the Oscar!!!! Thanks for a great night?.great work Chris, Tracy, Amanda, Sharon, Chani and anyone else I missed?..pictures to follow soon.
