Just Skank 4th Birthday with DJ Hype and MC Funsta

As one of Manchester's most revered bass parties, Just Skank has enjoyed the company of some of drum n bass, dubstep, and garage's most distinguished individuals in its prestigious career. It's four years at the helm of bass music in Manchester has seen the likes of Pendulum, Mala, Artful Dodger, Datsik and Dillinja all hit various venues around the city.

Its forthcoming birthday celebrations see the high octane party purveyors entice a headliner that is fittingly legendary.

Step up DJ Hype (listen to his recent Fabric mix above). As one of the true figureheads of drum n bass and jungle in the UK, DJ Hype shot to notoriety way back in the early nineties by way of his London pirate Radio Show on Fantasy FM, as he ruthlessly tore through the hottest records in the burgeoning jungle and drum n bass movement. 

His Ganja imprint too became home to some of the most defining releases in the genre, with tracks like 'You Must Think First', 'Tiger Style' (above), and of course DJ Zinc's masterpiece 'Super Sharp Shooter' all receiving rapturous receptions. DJ Hype continues to showcase a timeless jump up style in his DJ sets - expect a true masterclass in drum n bass firepower come Friday 16th May.
