Take your wellbeing to new heights with this festival celebrating 40 years of Heartbeat, the Northwest's leading Cardiac Care charity... wellbeing for the whole Heart & Mind, Body & Soul...

The younger members of the family can road test ridgeback kids bikes (don't worry, Dad - grown-ups can try the latest electric bikes too). there's also plenty of forest activity, including bug hunts and den building.

If you're older, maybe try Walking Football with the PNE Community Education Trust - and the event also features Walking Netball. They're even uniting the generations with an introduction to Crown Green Bowling - more and more youngsters are being introduced to this classic sport - so why not have a go yourself!

Nordic walking expert Matt Gibbs will be teaching the basics of this new form of walking which is guaranteed to do wonders for your wellbeing and if you like dressing up then you could join in the annual Heartbeat 2k Fun Run - as a superhero!

If you're more of a watcher then see the dramatic athletic feats of the Street Monkeys Free Running and Parkour team - wow! (TBC)

Or relax and listen to the music of JohnDenver as sung by the inimitable Chris Bannister and local band Rogers Codgers plus the superb voice of Charlotte Flannery.

For the mind, the Festival offers Yoga demonstrations and a beginners class, Tai Chi and Meditation - learn to relax and leave those daily stresses behind. To help you on your journey, there are 60 stalls covering all aspects of wellbeing, including getting out in the fresh air, wildlife, enjoying woodlands and even caravans to whisk you away into the great outdoors!

Then there's the food - just come and savour the flavour! Street food from a range of cultures awaits the visitor, including Chinese, South American and West African influences. With vegan, vegetarian and flexitarian tastes catered for, there's sure to be something to tempt your tastebuds.

Just to make sure you're on the right track you can also get a health check with cholesterol, blood pressure and BMI testing - and just to prove how healthy you are join in one of the Heartbeat "warm-up sessions" during the day!

Wide ranging current topics such as Mental Health problems in professional rugby league and in teenagers at school, the health effects of phone and tablet screens, how gardening can improve your wellbeing and the benefits of "forest bathing" are all being discussed by a range of expert speakers.

The Festival runs from 10am to 4pm on Saturday 15th September at Ashbridge School, Lindle Lane, Hutton, PR4 4AQ.

Supported by UCLAN, Pro-Fit, Leyland Round Table, J.Robinson Building Contractors, Campbells Caravans and Facer Pharmacy.
