Wehn's ruthlessly efficient comedy routines trade on his wide-eyed amazement at British quirks and his own country's Teutonic influence. The humour arises from pulling apart our countries shared history ("don't mention the war" is not a phrase Henning cares about), as well as our perceived notions of Germany's efficiency and power.

Having said all that, this is not comedy that takes itself too seriously. Henning delivers his thoughts on British culture and current events with his tongue placed firmly in his cheek, as demonstrated during his many appearances on panel shows 8 Out of 10 Cats, QI and David Mitchell's short-lived FAQ U. Henning has powerful allies, not in German parliament, but in the comedy hall of fame including his tour partner of previous years Stewart Lee and fellow funny foreigner Reginald D Hunter.

53 Degrees continues its programme of excellent comedy bookings with Henning's headline appearance this week. And future bookings are looking just as strong, with Gary Delaney & Chris Ramsey heading to the students union stage in coming weeks. Tickets for these three comedy shows and many more 53 Degrees live events are available on Skiddle right now.
