TDO parties in London have rapidly become the stuff of legend. A celebration not only of hip hop but the myriad of genres that helped spawn it, funk, soul, disco and electro among them, they've managed to put on shows that feature some of the best artists that traverse the full spectrum of sounds.

They've goth two events coming up worth your attention on Good Friday (18th April), so Jimmy Coultas take a look at what to expect from the parties.

TD0300 Friday 18th April @ Scala - DJ Jazzy Jeff, DJ Baby Rakaa Iriscience & more

Fridays rarely get as good as this one for hip hop fans, with the presence of two unf*&£witable DJs at the Scala for the 300th installment of TDO. The iconic Jazzy Jeff, the man who invented the transform scratch, pulled off Will Smith sounding fly and even managed to stay stylish being flung out of doors headlines, a selector who is arguably the greatest all round DJ hip hop has ever seen.

If that wasn't enough DJ Babu of The World Famous Beat Junkies will also be in attendance, as well his Dilated Peoples sparring partner emcee Rakaa Iriscience (watch the video to their TDO favourite Alchemist produced 'Worst comes to Worst' above). Portishead tour DJ Andy Smith, TDO resident Mr Thing and XL Recordings founder Nick Halkes also play.

Blu & Exile live Friday 18th April @ Scala

The same promoters are behind another event on the same night, this time a live show from Blu & Exile. The West Coast emcee and DJ combo were behind the seminal release Below the Heavens (Homeboy Sandman stated it was the last album that truly touched him when we spoke to him recently) and have drawn favourable comparisons to The Pharcyde and Jurassic 5 - the perfect warm up to the TDO show above.
