Glasgow Jazz Festival has unveiled the programme for its upcoming 40th edition. Over 175 musicians are set to perform at various venues in the city from Wednesday 10th to Sunday 14th June.
Among the 175 artists taking to the stage at the likes of Oran Mor, St Luke’s, the Old Fruitmarket, Nice N Sleazy, The Rum Shack, The Glad Cafe, Drygate, Second Line Records, Gavin’s Mill, and Mackintosh Church are SAY Award winners Kai Ressu, Mercury Prize nominee Fergus McCreadie, jazz collective Azamiah, BBC Radio Scotland's Young Jazz Musician 2025 Roan Anderson, and trumpeter Colin Steele honouring Miles Davis’ 100th birthday.
Founded in 1987, the inaugural edition saw jazz legend Sarah Vaughan playing, with Dizzy Gillespie, Oscar Petersen, Ray Charles, and Miles Davis all performing during the festival’s early years. The festival continues to showcase the genre’s biggest stars and newest rising talent nearly four decades on from its inception.
