Something wicked this way comes.....

Ten years ago Springer acted like Oprah, Tom Green wasn't part of the scene and traditional freak shows had disappeared. Pop culture was untattooed and grungy. This all changed when Jim Rose stole the buzz on the 1992 Lollapalooza tour sending shock waves around the world. He created a new category for entertainment and became our first beloved jackass.

The internationally renowned performance artist and author's new show is a mind bending thrill ride. Jim Rose leads and misleads a rapt audience on a journey rife with misunderstood, mysterious and idiotic achievements and exploits. This year's show explores and sometimes exposes the difference between man, monster and dumbass. The sixty-minute plus performance is infused with Rose's wicked wit, stunning feats and unexpected asides.

In short Rose explains: "This is my dream show. The idiot brothers have recovered from the shopping cart accident. The World's fattest contortionist is ready to tangle. Your jaw wil drop when witnessing 450lbs of elasticity. Other jackasses in this year's show are Bébé the Beautiful who will perform the Human Cannonbal and Rupert the Phenom. It's like I'm putting my entire backyard on stage. The classic stunts will be done at warped speed. 80 % of this year's show is a complete surprise. The performers are not aware of which challenges they will be expected to do. Most of the evening is spent wrestling with the luck of the draw. Anything can happen and usually does."

Likely you have heard plenty about the internationally renowned performance artist / author Jim Rose. Though he’d been honing his special and spectacular skills in Europe and the States for years, Rose first came to national prominence in 1992 at the Lollapalooza tour, garnering raves on MTV and publications ranging from the Wall Street Journal to Rolling Stone, which called the Jim Rose Circus "the absolute must-see act". USA Today termed Rose’s troupe "Lollapalooza’s word-of-mouth hit attraction" and the quick-witted show became the darling of high and low society alike.

His show is a mind-bending thrill ride. Jim Rose leads and misleads a rapt audience on a journey rife with misunderstood, mysterious and idiotic achievements and exploits. It explores and sometimes exposes the difference between man, monster and dumb ass. The sixty-minute plus performance is infused with Rose’s wicked wit, stunning feats and unexpected asides. He delights the audience with his own tongue-in-cheek charismatic style.

Post Lolla, in 1993 Rose headlined seven world tours and released a self-titled video which quickly became a cult classic on Rick Rubin’s American Recordings. In 1994 Rose et al were chosen to tour with Nine Inch Nails and a then unknown Marilyn Manson and later with KoRn and Godsmack. By 1998 Rose and his circus were astonishing the masses on another world tour…although Rose found time for a guest starring role on the X-files. Rose’s unusual life and compelling personality made for good reading as well and his book Freak Like Me was released on Bantam Doubleday Dell, ending up on several best sellers lists. As reported in the LA Times and Daily Variety, he has sold the movie rights to White Peach Productions and scheduled to start shooting at the end of this year. His now legendary persona became more infamous thanks to hot TV show The Simpsons, where Homer joined Rose’s circus as the Human Cannonball in a truly memorable episode. His recent awards include being the top ticket of the Melbourne (Australia), New Zealand and Edinburgh (Scotland) Fringe and Comedy Festivals.

Jim Rose can also be played. He is the popular Psymon on Play Station 2’s SSX Tricky and Sledstorm 2, both EA Sports BIG products. His TV series the Jim Rose Twisted Tour can be seen in reruns all over the world (UK – Sky TV’s Bravo channel).
