Freeze have announced the second artist to appear at their Bedrock records party in April, with Ellen Allien joining John Digweed. The Berlin native, herself a respected label head with her thrillingly revered BPitch imprint. Allien's trippy techno sound will be the perfect compliment for John's pulsating grooves and Freeze have also announced that she will be playing immediately after John's extended set (minimum of four hours).

The morning slot is perfect for the DJ who is a regular at legendary techno institution Berghain, where her long sets are part of the hedonistic folklore of the club. It's that late finish mentality which has inspired Freeze to run their first long hours session (as we reported previously), and Allien has been charged with bringing a flavour of the Berlin mentality and vibe to the event.

The DJ hasn't appeared in Liverpool since playing for legendary techno club Voodoo back in November 2005, adding an extra impetus to the performance. Renowned for combining punchy rhythms with dense melodies, her sets fizz with energy and guile whilst retaining an unerring ability to keep the groove locked. Don't believe us? Check out her whipping a storm above on her Boiler Room mix as evidence of her craft.

The event will take place in The Garage on Greenland St, one of the warehouses that make up Liverpool's creative centre, the Baltic district. Freeze resident Jemmy will be playing as well, the DJ having released an EP on the label back at the start of 2013. Head here for ticketing information.
