It's been an unprecedented month for innovative electronic music releases. A few weeks back we enjoyed Aphex Twin's glorious return to production after a 13 year hiatus by way of Syro, then a week or two after Radiohead front man Thom Yorke gave us the superb Tomorrow's Modern Boxes, his first solo outing since 2006's The Eraser.

And now, experimental, genre spanning Los Angeles beat scientist Flying Lotus has delivered another stand out moment for 2014's electronic music canon - the trippy, intoxicating, in places deranged You're Dead! LP, which you can stream below.

With this, his fifth album since 2006's 1983, Steven Ellison has intelligently combined hip hop, jazz, ambience, electronica, and a whole heap of other stuff into yet another critical success.

Featuring collaborations with rapper extraordinaires Kendrick Lamar and Snoop Dogg, as well as Brooklyn musician Angel Deradoorian and bass playing genius Thundercat, Flying Lotus has put together an album that will send your mind to the most psychedelic corners of the known universe, and trust us, the world is a better place for it.

Tickets have just gone on sale for Flying Lotus' return to London on April 17th, following an already sold out appearance at the Roundhouse on November 7th. This will be a rare opportunity to see the twisted musical mastermind in action, and one that will sell out in super quick time. You know what to do. Bag your Flying Lotus tickets here.
