Coming off a run dropping heat in every timezone, Blackpool-born producer Effy has returned to her roots with a new EP paying tribute to the hometown club that shaped her. The Syndicate - out now on Fragrance Recordings - is a three-track release that blends bouncy big-room throwbacks with Effy's sleek, bassy production.

The title and album cover honour The Syndicate in Blackpool, once one of the UK’s largest and most iconic superclubs. It’s a place that left a mark on Effy growing up, housing many of her earliest clubbing experiences, and the EP aims to solidify in sound the influence it had on the North West.

“This is a project inspired by the nostalgia of growing up and clubbing in my hometown up north,” she said on Instagram. “The Syndicate in Blackpool... played a major role in shaping the nightlife in the North West.

"2011 is inspired by big room 'EDM' sounds while Persuade and So Sound are more familiar, bass-heavy club tracks I’ve been playing out for a little while."

Effy’s as sharp as ever here - three tracks, no skips, and a reminder of why she’s earned a reputation that precedes.

'The Syndicate' EP is available to stream now, with a 12” vinyl pre-order also live.
