The Vaults, if you've not had the pleasure of having lost a sweaty evening there, happens to be in an old bank building on a street just off Cardiff's redeveloped waterside clinging to the old vestiges what used to be known as Tiger Bay. Since backroom started putting Berlin inspired line-ups there in 2009 before Cellar Door, Catapult, Memorex and Delete followed in its wake, it's been one of the more interesting venues for parties in Cardiff. Safe to say it's seen some memorable nights, but none quite as high concept as this - a bank heist themed event stacked to the rafters with heavyweight bassy house DJs and a soundsystem capable of generating a minor tsunami in the Severn. And, it says here, "armoured cars".

This is Endgame's first outing, and to say that it's a lineup packing some serious chutzpah would be an understatement. Doubling down on size, it's not just the Vaults that they're taking over, it's the upper space in Portland House too, promising a festival-standard level production, live performances and quadrasonic sound.

Up in the banking hall, multi-BPM bass flavours abound with genre-hopping low-end jockeys Redlight and Toddla T topping off the bill, with 1Xtra's DJ Target joining them. Redlight in particular will be one to catch in the midst of all the inevitable room-hopping - the Bristolian manages to condense 30 odd years of rave history into his sets. Sheffield native Toddla T has carved out a niche of booming basement music with big carnival vibes.

Downstairs its on a very bass house tip, with Bassboy, last spotted in these parts invoking gurns a plenty at GotBass - OG Jamie Duggan and buff erstwhile electrohouse man Kissy Sell Out.

Most nights at the Vaults have a sense of spectacle about them at the best of times, so this should be one for the ages. Plus, its bank heist theme gives endless license to punters to indulge in Danny Dyer-esque Landahn gangster patter all night, which we're all for to be quite honest. "Leave it ahhhhht!" etc.
