Terrence Parker, known to many as "TP", will play a 3 hour DJ set, showcasing the ?Inspirational House Music? genre that he pioneered, in celebration of the release of his new album. ?Life on the Back 9? will be released on the Planet E label, the independent electronic music label that is the brainchild of Carl Craig. The release party is hosted by emerging club night Shake a Leg and will take place in the newly opened Kitchen Street Pop-Up venue in the city?s Baltic Triangle area. As a DJ, TP has become legendary for his quite uncommon yet skilful turntablism style of playing House Music. TP has also become widely admired because he uses an actual telephone handset as headphones; causing some to give him the nickname, "Telephone Man". TP has performed as a DJ in 27 countries and in more than 200 hundred cities throughout the world. These appearances have ranged from intimate parties, like the one planned for Liverpool, to festivals with more than 100,000 people in attendance. TP has also released more than 100 recordings on various labels and has remixed projects for major label recording artists such as Beyonce, Shakira, Kelly Rowland, Wyclef feat Akon, Kanye West, Christina Aguilera and many more. Shake a Leg are very excited to showcase TP?s skills in Liverpool and share in celebrating the release of his new album. Shake a Leg is fronted by Kate Tawil, a working mum of two, entrepreneur and now an unlikely club promoter. She set up the night with her long time friend and clubbing cohort Tariq Ali. Kate?s desire to share her love of dancing and electronic music with a wider audience brought about the inception of Shake a Leg. Tariq?s skills from his day job (in Project Management) and love for music are providing the drive and enthusiasm to move things forward. The inspiration behind the night is to share the positive party atmosphere experienced with friends at intimate house parties. Kate has enlisted the support of the DJs that have sound tracked these parties in the form of the Shake a Leg Residents and has bolstered the line-up for the first big party of 2014 with a very special UK appearance from DJ Terrence Parker.
