Northern Ireland's Two Door Cinema Club are also confirmed for the festival, which takes place between 12th-14th July.
Now in its seventh year, Optimus Alive is known for its consistently heavyweight line-ups, with last year featuring Radiohead, The Cure and The Stone Roses to name but a few.
Saturday night will be headlined by legendary new wave electro-pop trio Depeche Mode. Having announced their world tour a couple of weeks back, the band are set to return with a highly anticipated new live show in support of their new record out next Spring. Sunday’s headliners are undoubtedly one of the biggest bands in the world; Kings of Leon. With confirmation from bassist Jared Followill that new material will be out next year, the band will close the festival with their iconic stadium sound.
Joining them will be energetic indie pop rockers Two Door Cinema Club, with more acts set to be announced in the coming weeks and months.
Taking place in the town of Oeiras, Optimus Alive festival site is situated just five miles from Lisbon. With the music taking place from late afternoon through to the early hours on each of the three days, Optimus Alive is very much a ‘beach by day, music by night’ destination festival.
The camping site is 4* quality and boasts hot showers, a swimming pool and a free shuttle service back and forth to the festival.
