This week on Days Out With Skiddle we have a live wrestling exhibition at Manchester's Bowlers Centre, a Welsh Bonfire Night bonanza, and even a lifesize monopoly board you can play and fall out with the family on, that has taken over London. It's going to be that busy end to the year, with the weather getting colder and Christmas fast approaching, and there are many amazing events popping up across the calendar.

Wrexham Fireworks Spectacular

When: Saturday 5th November 2022

Where: Rock The Park Festival Site in Wrexham

Down as 'The biggest fireworks event Wales has ever seen,' this fireworks extravaganza that's coming to Wrexham, might just be that. With live DJ sets and tributes to Little Mix, Queen, and Stereophonics. The night looks set to be the family event of the bonfire season in Wales, and we don't want you to miss out. Who knows, you might spot Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney whilst you're here too, we hear they've got an interest in Wrexham nowadays?

For The Love Of Sci-Fi Exhibition

When: Saturday 3rd - Sunday 4th December 2022

Where: Bowlers Exhibition Centre in Manchester

Calling all of you Sci-Fi fanatics, if you love everything from Star Wars to Blade Runner to Dune, then this exhibition is going to be the kyber crystal to your lightsaber. Returning for the first time since 2019, which saw legends of the game like Karl Urban, Jon Bernthal, Dolph Lundgren, Danny Glover, Peter Weller, Stranger Things star Charlie Heaton, and Warwick Davis take the stage for panel shows, Q&As and meet and greets for their fans. On top of this, they have a fantastic array of replica film props for you to have a look at/play with. It's an out-of-this-world day for any Sci-fi fan, and one you won't want to miss out on

The Reggae Brunch Birmingham

The Great Gatsby Live

Where: Unit HQ At Immersive LDN in London

The Great Gatsby is an absolute classic, and whilst this version may not feature our Leo, it's the closest you'll get to being sent back to the roaring twenties and attending one of Jay Gatsby's infamous parties. The champagne flows as the drama unfolds on the hedonistic world of red hot rhythms, bootleg liquor and pure jazz age self-indulgence. So, dress to the nines and immerse yourself in this heart-racing adaption of F Scott Fitzgerald’s seminal tale, you won't want to miss out.

Live Abba Tribute & Bottomless Brunch

When: Saturday 12th November 2022

Where: Tenstreet Social in Liverpool

Calling all you scouse Dancing Queens, this daytime special brunch at the Tenstreet Social will see a mass celebration of the legendary band that changed dance floors forever - ABBA. This live musical brunch sees the UK’s No.1 ABBA tribute band get bodies moving as the bottomless beer, wine & prosecco get flowing. Alongside the tunes and booze will be a range of street food-style platters for you to chow down on (and provide a much-needed lining to many stomachs). My Neighbour Totoro Live

Where: Barbican Centre in London

An absolute classic of the Japanese animation scene from the famed Studio Ghibli, My Neighbour Totoro is getting the Theatre treatment this year, and we could not be more excited. Exploring the magical fantasy world of childhood and the transformative power of imagination the play will follow one extraordinary summer in the lives of sisters Satsuki and Mei as they are swept up in exciting adventures with their new neighbours, and are transported to a long-forgotten realm of spirits, sprites, and natural wonder. It'll be one o the most unique and awe-inspiring plays you see this year!

Smethwick Baths Ghost Hunt 

When: Saturday 22nd October 2022

Where: Smethwick Baths in Birmingham

With Halloween fast approaching, some of you horror fanatics may want to have some real-life experiences of the paranormal world, and there are few places better to do so than on the ghost hunt at Smethwick Baths.  These haunted baths have many, many areas of investigation including tunnels that are dark and foreboding and were used as an air raid shelter during the war, and also a pool room where many underground brawls and dodgy dealings have taken place. There is such a long history still waiting to be uncovered, and we cant wait for you to come with us, mainly as it means we'll have someone to hide behind.

For The Love Of Wrestling 3

When: Saturday 29th - Sunday 30th April 2023

Where: Bowlers Exhibition Centre in Manchester

Coming to the Bowlers Exhibition Centre next year is the incredible, third edition, of For the Love of Wrestling, the UK and Europe's biggest dedicated wrestling event and fan convention. This event is a must for any hardcore wrestling followers, as the guests that feature will make you want to 619 someone. Their 2019 event saw wrestling legends such as The Undertaker, Pete Dunne, Rob Van Dam, and Bret The Hitman Hart feature alongside current WWE, WWF, WCW, ECW, TNA, NWA, and Impact stars, and this year looks set to top it. See live wrestling, Q&As, meet and greets, and so much more. Just don't try it at home kids.

Enchanted Gardens Light Trail

When: Friday 2nd - Saturday 31st December 2022

Where: Town Gardens in Swindon, Old Town

Back again this year by popular demand is Swindon's very own Enchanted Garden Light Trail. The Christmas wonderland will allow visitors to wander through a magical backdrop of illuminated trees, discovering a trail of remarkable light art sculptures, low-level soundscapes, interactive illuminations and specially commissioned light shows set in the historic Bowl. The seasonal exhibit promises to go above and beyond their previous year and it looks to be one of the family events of the winter season, so get it booked and prepare to be mesmerized!

Monopoly Lifesized - City Board

When: Thursday 15th September - Saturday 5th November 2022

Where: Monopoly Lifesized in London

Monopoly has taken centre stage in many family arguments since the game came out all those years ago, and the people at Monopoly Lifesized in London have decided that the best thing to do is to make it bigger and give those arguments a stage in front of many others. It sounds absolutely incredible. So, shotgun the car piece, prepare your hotels, and secure the blue squares, as this one's about the get fiesty. We'll see you in jail!
