Earlier this year we saw a metamorphosis of Cavanagh as he took advice from British legend Drew McDonald to heart, dropped the jokes and gimmicks and focused on what really mattered; winning. His fast paced approach has slowed down, becoming methodical and cunning, taking his opponents apart piece by piece until he has the win in sight.
Impressed by his new focus, management decided to give Cavanagh a shot at the Pride Championship back in December, but when the match came down to a no contest due to interference, Cavanagh was livid! As we enter the Pride era, he steps back into the ring with a vengeance, ready to take out his frustrations and fight for another opportunity against Pride Champion Dickie Divers.
Opposite him will be Lewis Girvan, a young man with incredible natural talents who stands as one of the youngest wrestlers in the country. Still a teenager, Girvan has excelled in the world of wrestling and recently toured with the legendary All-Star Wrestling promotion, receiving greatly positive feedback from the veterans of the nationwide touring promotion. A huge honour for someone of his young age showing he is a true prodigy of the wrestling world!
With Cavanagh dedicated to being taken seriously as an athlete and advancing towards the Pride title, and Girvan eager to establish himself as one of Scotlands top cruiserweight star, this is sure to be an amazing contest and with Girvans high-risk attack, will Cavanagh have to return to his old pace to gain the advantage? Or can he bring down Girvan with his new surgical approach?
