There are no two ways about it, 2022 has been a wildly turbulent year. Seismic shifts in culture, from the withdrawal of long-standing civil liberties and a global cost of living crisis to conflicts and geopolitical turmoil, have been felt and endured by people across the world. Some sadly more than others. And we thought 2022 was going to be the year when normality returned! When will things be normal again? Will they ever be normal again? Who knows? One thing's for sure though, given all its downsides, 2022 has also had its fair share of ups.

We've watched on with glee as thousands if not millions of you came together to rave on dance floors in mammoth warehouse spaces and in treasured grassroots music venues, to lose yourself to music courtesy of the world's best and biggest names. We saw you, living it up at epic open-air soirees amidst stunning green backdrops and captivating woodlands, hands in the air in euphoria under the rays of the beaming mid-summer sun. We caught you gasping at the magic of the stage and theatre, finally back at its best, belly-laughing at comedians, and chowing down on some delicious treats at food and drink events across the nation... Let us be the first to say, it's been a ride! And it's not quite over yet.

This New Year's, we've chosen to take inspiration from the words of Irvine Welsh and a well-known 90s cult classic film, to portray our attitude to the coming conclusion of the year and the beginning of another. Read our New Year's open letter below to learn more about our mantra as we begin a better chapter in 2023.
