Chibuku Shake Shake Saturday 17th October - Win Tickets!

It’s another smorgasbord of brutal funk from Chibuku Shake Shake as they bring the triple roomed wickedness to the fore once more in Liverpool.

Simian Mobile Disco are James Ford and James 'Jas' Shaw. They first formed Simian Mobile Disco as a DJ partnership, playing around Manchester. Their DJing then led to remixes for bands such as Air, and eventually Simian Mobile Disco began their own original production work. Soon the Mobile Disco name took on a life of its own. The pair have played with groups like LCD Soundsystem, Tiefschwarz and Soulwax. They've also remixed The Kills, Ladytron and The Departure and remain firm Buku faves. Joining them is Fake Blood, the latest alter ego for Theo Keating (following on from stints in the Wiseguys and Black Ghosts, and famously as DJ Touché). The Chibuku debut of this personality of Theo’s back in June was widely heralded as the finest party of the year for the club, similar carnage can be expected form this visit.

Ink sizzles with deep disco and house from men of the moment – that is, of this year so far – Belgium’s Aeroplane. Residents at legendary Ghent club Make Up, they fuze old and nu disco, psyche pop, classic house & Balearic seamlessly together. Supporting them is a triumvirate who rarely get together to jam these days – but when they do, expect dancefloor dynamite. Pooling the extensive musical knowledge from three seminal Chibuku residents – Wandy, Luke Carr and Phat Phil – means a sonic-scape of disco, dub, beats, bass and house, all playing under Wandy’s cracking London Friday night party, Heartbeat.

The Loft once again wobbles to the sound of dubstep in its most visceral of forms with the Dub Police. Caspa, whose funkier take on the genre has seen a housier sound come rippling through the scene, tops the bill, alongside long term partner in crime Rusko. They’re joined by Joker, whose sonic template has embraced the laid back drawl of G-Funk to create a truly seismic trans-atlantic vision of the genre’s future. Local lids and lads SixAM get things stoked up rather nicely.
