Charenee Wade will bring her interpretation of the work of Gil Scot Heron to Manchester's Band On The Wall on Thursday 20th October.
The singer is best known for her improvisational singing style and classic jazz sounds which she combines beautifully with the words of one of the greatest social poets of all time.
Her debut album Offering: The Music Of Gill Scott Heron and Brian Jackson came out in June and reminded listeners that the words spoken by Gil Scott way back when resonate strongly today.
Band on the wall will provide the perfect back drop to Wade's swinging grooves and arresting vocals, and she will be supported by rhythmic soul, drum and bass-jazz fusion group Pareidolia.
