Wide Awake Festival will not be returning to Brockwell Park this summer. The South London festival, which has brought a slew of acclaimed indie, post-punk, jazz and electronic acts to Brockwell Park since 2021, will “just be taking a break for 2026”, a festival organiser has confirmed to MyLondon.
Last year saw CMAT, English Teacher, Fat Dog, and Peaches fronting the lineup at Wide Awake 2025 last May, which went ahead amid a legal dispute dubbed ‘The Battle of Brockwell Park’. The saga began when a local resident accused Lambeth Council of not possessing the correct planning permission to put on the park’s annual summer series, which includes fellow festivals Field Day, Cross The Tracks, City Splash and Mighty Hoopla. The divisive drama led to a High Court ruling and came to a close when Brockwell Live, the organisers of the summer series, confirmed that the festivals would go ahead as planned.
Despite Wide Awake taking time off for 2026, Field Day, Cross The Tracks, City Splash and Mighty Hoopla will go ahead as planned.
