With last week's announcements for the Fistral Beach Bar including the likes of The 1975 and Benjamin Francis Leftwich, Boardmasters have added weight to their reputation for adding intelligently chosen acts to their lineups, up and coming artists, and bands complimenting the feel of the festival perfectly.
Recent acts announced for the Watergate Bay fully fit with that critique.
2013’s edition of the festival welcomes Simian Mobile Disco to the Boardmasters ranks. Now classed as veterans of the scene, the Bristolian production duo have been lighting up dancefloors around the world for some time with their own take on electro house. Their set at Boardmasters will show off their unmistakable SMD sound, and provide an irresistible booty shaking addition to the seaside Festival.
North Londoners Man Like Me will also be firing up the dancefloor with their ska, grime, garage and indie sonic fusion which has gained them so many fans already. The Camden double act of Johnny Langer and Peter Duffy have previously travelled far and wide, even as far as Los Angeles, showing off their original vision and old skool sounds. Their set at Boardmasters is going to be unmissable.
UK forward thinking bass music innovator XXXY will also be cordially invited to showcase his Chicago influenced, bass heavy, 808 drum philosophy. His recent productions have been getting serious rotation in underground dance circles, and he is showing no signs of letting up. Expect a set full of energy and infectious enthusiasm, all with dance floor destroying sensibility.
Over on the View Stage we can look forward to the wondrous acoustic stylings of Josh Record. His earnest, seductive melodies and heartfelt lyrical genius will provide a stunning soundtrack to what is a breathtaking view out over the Atlantic.
And for the die hard fans of rock, the announcements of Dinosaur Pile Up, Crowns, Dark Horses, I Am Giant, Gnarwolves, Bloody Knees, Steve Smyth, The Sea Young Aviators, Rat Attack, Bad Channels and Remember December are sure to please everyone.
With a few more announcements still to be a made, Boardmasters is setting up to be a truly memorable weekend perfectly combining watersports, beach fun, music, art and a whole host of other stuff to create a beautiful festival experience.
