Ant Brooks to headline Big Fist Manchester follow up night at Joshua Brooks

Manchester has always been responsible for first's, discovering how to split the atom at Manchester University in 1919, the first computer in 1948 and the first club nights throughout the 1980's ahead of the birth of the UK Acid House scene Manchester has always been a place for first's.

Following the creative element influenced by The Sex Pistols, The Buzzcocks, Joy Division in the 70's, the Chicago, Detroit, New York, Hacienda, Factory Records and early Electro, Hip Hop and Acid House influences of the 1980's; Saturday 15th March see?s the follow up to Big Fist Manchester at the amazing Victorian basement that is Joshua Brooks.

After a successful launch, the creative energies behind the new North West based record label, Big Fist Manchester are proud to have Ant Brooks as the headliner for the follow up to its hugely Manchester night.

Commenting on the launch, Big Fist Manchester said ?Musically aware crowd, cool vibes & everyone just wanted to dance. Perfect combination for what was a great night?

Ant Brooks

In just a few years UK based Ant Brooks has already caught the attention of the world?s leading DJ's. In what would take some artists many more years to achieve, he has released on some of the biggest and most respected labels in underground house and techno. 1605, Toolroom, Tronic, Deeperfect and Agile are just some of the labels Ant has already released with, and all of this so early on in his career just goes to show that with his undeniable talent, passion for music, and hunger to succeed, that the hard work is really starting to pay off. With no signs of slowing down he is destined to keep climbing the ladder and bring the grooving techno sound he produces to the masses. Up to now Ant has played shows across Asia, Europe, North and South America, where he played to over 8000 people on the main stage of an open air festival. 2014 also sees the launch of his brand new record label, Groovant Music, which will see releases from many key artists in the techno scene. This will run alongside his bi-weekly podcast series which is already proving a hit the world over. All of this will only further the demand for this very talented Dj and Producer.

Paul Bleasdale

He is the original Cream resident DJ and widely recognised as one of the leading DJ residents of his time. He is credited for helping shape the tough funky sound of Cream's famous Annexe room, playing alongside the world?s leading DJ's. Paul?s illustrious career has also seen him headline parties all over the country, with regular visits around the globe, including Ibiza.

After some time away from the decks to pursue other interests, Paul is back on the circuit again and playing sold out shows across the UK and Ireland in celebration of Cream?s 21st Anniversary. Paul is also currently working on his latest studio production project, with eagerly anticipated releases planned for 2014. His first track 'Annexed' and on Big Fist records reached No1 in the track it down techno chart.

John Cotton

During his career as a DJ John has been lucky enough to have played in many countries around the world, these include France, Holland, Israel, Denmark, Serbia and Hong Kong. Most of his international work has been in Holland mainly Amsterdam but also Utrecht, Ijjelstein and Zaandam John was lucky enough to play the very first FFWD for The House Of Bounce organisation. The FFWD Heineken Street Parade is Holland?s Love Parade and attracted a street crowd of 350,000 people .In Liverpool John has played quite a few of the major clubs over the years, Fallows, Buzz, The State, Garlands, Masque and of course 12 years as G Bar afterhours resident in The Church Room.

Scurrilous

Scurrilous maybe a newly formed duo, but they are already making waves in the nu deep house scene. With a rich history in the music industry between them, having been nominated for a Mobo award and The People's Choice Music Award, as well as production duties on a number of huge acts including Estelle, Tinchy Stryder and Jamie Fox, their unique style of deep house blended with the more classic US style is setting dance floors from both sides of the pond alight. Bouncing Chicago bass lines with skippy New York drums, layered with deep chords, makes for a great sound. Having already worked on DJ sets alongside acts including Amine Edge, Hannah Watts and Sy Sez and guest slots on BBC Radio 1 ,1Xtra, XFM and Choice, Scurrilous is the next big name for the future. With two EPs ready for release on Big Fist Records befor the end of the year, and the duo are ready for some remix duties early 2014.
