Hip-hop royalty is heading across the pond this summer, as Beastie Boys icon Mike D announces his first-ever UK and European headline shows as a solo artist.

The news lands shortly after the rap legend surprised fans with the release of his debut solo single, ‘Switch Up’, marking a fresh chapter for the influential rapper, producer and songwriter.

He also recently sent fans into a frenzy after making a surprise on-stage appearance alongside his sons Davis and Skyler, who perform together in indie-dance outfit Very Nice Person. During the appearance, he treated the crowd to a couple of classic Beastie Boys tracks before teasing what would come next.

Not long after, the New York icon unveiled a pair of intimate US solo dates, including a performance at Plaza Nightclub & Dance Hall in Los Angeles, where he debuted brand-new solo material live for the first time.

Now, UK and European fans are getting their chance to catch the rap pioneer in much smaller venues than you might expect.

The run kicks off in London with two intimate shows at 26 Leake Street on June 5th and 6th before Mike D heads to Berlin’s Saalchen. The tour will then continue through Barcelona, Kortrijk and Sint-Niklaas, giving fans across Europe a rare opportunity to catch the hip-hop heavyweight up close.

Alongside the headline dates, Mike D is also set to appear at several major festivals this June, including Primavera Sound Porto, Beyond The Pale in Wicklow, and Beyond The Streets in Paris.
