The BRIT Awards have unveiled the three names battling for the 2026 Critic’s Choice Award. Edinburgh folk artist and Mercury Prize nominee Jacob Alon, dance-pop star Rose Gray, and viral singer-songwriter Sienna Spiro have been shortlisted for the prize.
Formerly known as the Rising Star Award, the 2026 edition will see the award revert to its original name of Critics Choice, and aims to recognise emerging artists primed to make the biggest impact on the industry. Adele, Florence + the Machine, Jorja Smith, Sam Fender, and The Last Dinner Party are among the acts to snag the prize since its inception in 2008.
The upcoming awards ceremony will take place at Co-op Live in Manchester, the first time the awards has taken place outside of London in its 46-year history, on Saturday 28th February 2026.
