Time for Musical T3rrorism to take five, to find out abit more about there co hosts for t3rror-tronica...
I used to work behind the bar in Thomas's back when it had underground club nights on friday and saturday nights every weekend. It wasn't long after that I realised just how much I wanted to be involved. A few months later, Thomas's was no longer a venue and the scene seemed to disband...enter Eclectronica!
The first gig I ever put on was intended as a one off just to test the water, it was in the New York CIU club on Blossom Street in York. The little old place was rammed and it was obvious this was gonna have to carry on! After the second gig we had decided to do it monthly and we have ever since playing at various venues across York and Leeds. I suppose the push was, and still is...the music and vibes, Simples!
My good friends at Musical T3rrorism are certainly rising stars with every night exceeding the last. (shameless plug completely intended), The Herbal Mafia crew are bringing big names to the city, which can only be a good thing, Freaking have been flying the house flag for 15 years now. There's loads good nights out there at the minute but the phrase too little butter, too much toast springs to mind in York.
My fave hosting has to be our 1st birthday and halloween party last year. Epic uv party and amazing atmosphere. The gig I enjoyed playing at most was the Wonka Rave at beaverworks. Steve Ware had the crowd jumping already and set me up perfectly. Muchos Love Steve!
This is a really tough one, sat here for ages on it! Ive got quite a few. I play at quite a lot of student nights too (I prefer to see it as educating the goons to real music) so get to play a variety of genres so I tend to have one for each. One Im loving at the minute has to be Reapers by Veltix. Heavy aint the fucking word mate!
Quite possibly The lover that you are by Pulse. First chemically induced romance with music, nuff sed.
In a word struggling
York at the moment but dont hold your breath!
Has to be the 50 year old guy, painted blue from head to toe, wearing a ballerinas tutu and a massive gurn, who managed to stomp til closing time. Effort!
In York its gotta be my man Mad Will. An original dirty bastard who will not let you sit still.
Elsewhere Lee Mortimer, Faomo, James Lavelle. Oh yeah and local lads DJ Sauce and Theft who both regularily dive at the mixer from 15 feet away, love it
Peace
Just Jess c/o Eclectronica
