Taking over the Empire Tavern, Club Empire will operate as a "speakeasy-style late-night spot."

Date published: 16th Oct 2026

Set to run from every Friday and Saturday at 10 pm til 2 am is brand new club concept Club Empire. Taking over the Empire Tavern on Mare Street in Hackney, Club Empire will become a "speakeasy-style late-night spot" which is set to launch on Saturday 7th November.

With Empire Tavern dating back to 1901, Club Empire will transform the venue into day and night with a "curtain draw" after 10:PM. Decorated the resturance and bar space with low lighting, a disco ball and a custom Blaze by Sonance soundsystem for the occasion.

And to round it all together, Clum Empire's flagship events will follow a "four hours with..." format, allowing vistors to enjoy new and inviting sounds from "unsung heroes and special guests." Featuring names that'll be famillar to some, they'll be acts pulled from across London and the UK to play extended DJ sets through the night.

The lineup for the launch night is yet TBA, but with the focus on providing affordable club nights, expect a quality exprience with "label takeovers and external promoters from across the UK’s underground scene", at a fraction of the price.
