At the start of 2020 we started a local events & entertainment business called ?DoBuddy? in Newport South Wales to ?bring back fun? when out of nowhere the pandemic hit.

We are now putting on an event in Newport this November with massive headline DJs including Tommy Vercetti, Kreature and Lucas Alexander.

This will not be your standard club night as we are doing things differently, promoting versatility and offering exclusive discounted packages for local students in Wales, encouraging them to safely experience the event with minimal cost and fuss.

What we are doing differently?

We are the only events company in South Wales offering a return transport for Cardiff University students as part of the event ticket package.

We are doing this to safeguard the journey for students travelling from cardiff to newport. The return journey following the event will ensure that the students get back to Cardiff safely and without paying over the odds for taxis in the early hours of the morning.

In addition, we aim to set up a Covid Pass Advice Station the day before the event for non-vaccinated people to obtain a free lateral flow test and support them in obtaining their Covid passes ahead of the event. This will reduce the amount of people being turned away at the door as they haven?t met the Welsh government Covid pass requirement to enter the venue. Since this policy has been introduced, We witnessed many potential attendees being turned away which has caused financial loss to the clubs and a lot of tension between potential clients and door staff enforcing the rules.

More information about our company DoBuddy.

Not only have we managed to stay afloat during the pandemic, but we offered free entertainment services to key workers at the height of the pandemic. One example of this was taking a mobile sound system down to our local Asda Superstore to play music in the car park to queuing customers. This was a great success and we put smiles on many faces.

How we support local businesses?

We secured a deal with our local football team Newport County AFC to become the official events & entertainment partners for the club. We have hosted and participated in many events for the club including providing entertainment for the local community children?s football teams. We provide match day entertainment alongside local non-funded companies that offer services for free such as Newport City Radio and County in the Community.

Every event that we hold, we use local suppliers and services in an attempt to boost business in South Wales and create a sustainable network for future events and activities.

We have managed to give back by putting money back into the development of the club and it?s community incentives via sponsorship to the club.

We are always looking for ways to support local and give back, wherever possible. We aim to bring back the community spirit that Newport once had.

So come on down to Newport on the 27.11.21 for an incredible night.
