Since Drumsheds opened in 2023, it has hosted some of the biggest names in dance music and put on some truly unique events. One of their biggest successes was the launch of False Idols, a night dedicated to self-expression and queer culture. The first edition saw the Sugababes, Shygirl, Eliza Rose and more head to the venue.
Now, False Idols is back again and they have Jessie Ware lined up to headline, with huge sets also coming from The Blessed Madonna and Romy. We thought we'd take a look at some of the other names on the lineup worth catching at the event.
HAAi
HAAi is the moniker of vocalist and DJ Teneil Throssell, who has collaborated with the likes of Jon Hopkins, Moxie and Alexis Taylor. Originally in a psychedelic indie rock band back in her native Australia, she started to embrace techno and house en route to becoming a DJ. Now, HAAi has built a reputation on the wide scope of sounds she embodies under the techno banner from melodic to industrial.
Shanti Celeste
Shanti Celeste is a Chilean DJ, who listeners of NTS Radio might be familiar with from her sessions on the station. Celeste's music has an emphasis on the uplifting, capable if getting you bouncing with little effort, she is someone who so effortlessly embodies the right grooves at the right time.
CouCou Chloe
It is often said that CouCou Chloe's music borders on the futuristic. There's an air of intrigue surrounding an artist who is intent on creating a universe of her own. You might hear her latest cut 'Guess' a pop-adjacent banger that seems destined to make many dance floors shake.
Crybaby
A name from Australia's dance music scene, Crybaby is known for blending multiple genres together. From afro house to R&B, she's able to craft unique mixes on a whim. She'll be bringing her own unique energy to Drumsheds and isn't one to be missed.
Karlie Marx
Expect maximalism at Karlie Marx's set, which will be a pretty bonkers spectacle. One half of 2Girls1Tuck, you'll be hearing selections from hyperpop to hard house and garage, with plenty of twists and turns along the way. This will be one of False Idols' most unique sets of the night.
