IllumiNaughty has proven itself time and time again to be Manchesters most versatile club night, regularly shape shifting and materialising in various guises across the North. In 2006 the Goblin Gang first unleashed their musical mania at The Zoo and also made knock-out guest appearances at Europes largest student festival Pangaea. Even in these embryonic stages the team was a force to be reckoned with and delivered Northern clubbers a glowing International Trance experience rarely seen on these shores.

Promising indoor festival behaviour, a psychedelic playground, unparalleled immersive atmospheres and a regular safe haven for alternative culture to flourish expectations were never let down. One glance through the nights extensive photo gallery is testament to the glowing history of their community. Building momentum over 2 years illumiNaughties swelled in numbers and the crew begun to seek a roomier location for their pan demonic pleasures and in 2008 upgraded to the Ritz Ballroom. Here the vision flourished to fit its surroundings at an exceptional rate and more and more media elements where throw into the mix until The Digital Theatre was born.

As illumiNaughty is famed for its theatrical personality and unpredictable carnival antics the Ritz Ballroom swiftly became the teams spiritual home allowing the scale of their production to expand to equal their ambitions. Here pyrotechnics, 360 degree visuals, dancing silhouettes, scrap TV installations and more stalls, schemes and festival shenanigans could be let loose to run riot under one roof.

But never ones to stay in one place too long and great lovers of variety the Goblins treated their punters in 2009/2010 to something a little different, descending on Manchesters quaintest and quirkiest venue the Chapel for some beautifully bizarre beat-fuelled blasphemy. For 3 nights this tiny church was crammed to the rafters with its most colourful congregation. Head banging Nuns, laser light shows, fire dancers and Goblins galore paid homage to the party gods until dawn broke and all creatures of the night were reluctantly forced to disperse rejuvenated and rejoicing back to normality.

After four magnificent years of illumiNaughty media mash-ups and electronic extravagance, 2010 will mark a nostalgic return to their less than humble roots. On the 5th June Manchesters most mischievous collective will revisit the place of their birth for a triumphant celebration of all things naughty! The Zoo is a much more intimate venue all on one level, perfect for those who prefer their club nights cosy and their surroundings a little more snug. The smaller dimensions allow a friendlier vibe where performers, dancers and clientele alike can rub shoulders and unite in their passion for dance floor indulgence.

Dino Psaras is set to headline the night, one fraction of the pioneering trance-experimenters Krome Angels and beat-splicer extraordinaire in his own right followed by illumiNaughtys close compatriot Sabretooth who never fails to provoke supreme sonic mayhem. Zeus, Draven, Mazieg and Nosf will also accompany supplying a sumptuous sensory cocktail of lip smacking, thigh slapping delights!

Exciting, amorphous and constantly evolving illumiNaughty is a flamboyantly chaotic and beautifully crafted cornerstone of Manchesters alternative culture bound for immortality in the hearts and minds of all who experience it. Stepping through the doors of an illumiNaughty, wherever it may have settled on that particular evening, is like stepping through a portal into another dimension where reality is stretched, flipped and exploded. Long live the dream!
