Absolute rip off. Trap you in for hours with extortionate food and drink prices. Will never go again

The music didn't seem very loud especially whilst Dj was playing. Seems a little strange for a dance event. Once the orchestra came on the tunes were brilliant and so were they.

Review of Symphonic Ibiza at Rochester Castle

The castle gardens are fab, but opening at 2pm and requiring everyone to be in by 6pm for an 8:45pm set start is simply a way to create a captive audience for over priced drinks. £8 for a single; staff confiscating water and umbrellas on the door (despite torrential rain); being allowed to bring picnic blank*ts and them being asked to move way back at 2pm when there was plenty of space... A transparent money-making exercise by Rochester Castle Live, The Festival Crowd & Skiddle. CD's set was fab, but at only 1hr 15mins ish long - having waited 6hrs - not totally worth it.

Been coming to the castle concerts for years but won't be coming again. Unisex toilets were FILTHY, drink and food queues were too long, people pushing in. Had my chewing gum taken from my bag but people with no bags were not having pock*ts searched. Had my umbrella taken off me so had to buy a flimsy poncho that ripped very easily.

We were advised we had to be in the venue before 6pm, though it looks as though people were coming through the doors a lot later than that. It seems attendees are told this to try and get people in early to spend money in the venue. We didn't have any mobile signal so had to spend a while in the queue outside, connecting to hotspots to try and download the tickets. Once in, the queues for the bars were huge and the prices extortionate (£7.50 for a can of beer I can buy for £1 at Tesco!), it seemed to take a long time to be served despite there not being draught beers or ciders, plus it was inconvenient when buying more than one at a time that they had to be opened so they couldn't be stored in bags for later, to avoid constantly having to go back to the queues.
One thing also would be more seating areas, even if not park bench style seating then just someone to perch, luckily the rain held off so people could sit on the ground but that's not always going to be the case.
The venue itself is quite unique and there are plenty of toilet facilities, so one thing not to have to worry about. The bands were great, the sound was spot on and you had a great view from pretty much anywhere within the grounds, with a large stage and big screens to back that up too.

Great event only complaint is the prices at the bar I expect to pay more for drinks at a concert but it was more expensive than drinks in London, aside from the prices the que for the bar was at times over 1 hour long so this effects the fun of the entertainment as a lot is missed due to too long a wait in the bar queuing. other thank that I still look forward to next year's Castle events. Thank you for a great evening. 

Gate shut 6pm so had 2 hours half wait for crisis david who only came on for an hour 15 mins pricy venue food drinks

Great event with some real old skool classics, despite the rain!!  Craig David and DJ Ironik were fantastic.
