About

Motion is a Midlands-based trance event brand centred around uplifting, euphoric and harder-edged trance events in and around Derby. The brand has built a strong grassroots following through intimate, high-energy club nights that focus heavily on atmosphere, community and proper trance culture rather than purely commercial festival-style promotion.

Our slogan — “Motion Loves You xxx” — has become a recognisable part of the brand identity and community culture. Motion was founded out of a genuine passion for trance music and the people around the scene, with a strong emphasis on connection between DJs and the crowd.

Some key things that define Motion:

  • A focus on classic uplifting trance, tech trance and emotional melodic trance
  • Events with a more intimate “proper club night” feel
  • Strong support for emerging UK trance DJs alongside established international names
  • Heavy use of immersive production including lasers, lighting and atmosphere-led staging
  • Building a loyal Midlands trance community rather than just one-off events

The brand has grown through its Midlands Trance Festival series, hosting artists such as:

  • Factor B
  • The Thrillseekers
  • Maria Healy
  • Craig Connelly
  • Paul Webster
  • Amos & Riot Night

One reason Motion resonates with trance fans is that it taps into the old-school UK trance-club ethos that people still reminisce about from brands like Gatecrasher, Slinky and Godskitchen — smaller but passionate crowds, emotionally driven music, and a sense of belonging within the scene.

Their upcoming Midlands Trance Festival No.5 is currently promoting a lineup featuring Factor B, The Thrillseekers, Maria Healy and Dark Fusion.
