In 2014, EngineRooms underwent a remarkable transformation, emerging as Southampton’s largest independent grassroots music and entertainment venue. EngineRooms is located 6 minute walk away from Southampton Central train station.
Make your way out of the train station on the town side (Isle of Wight Ferries side), cross the road then make your way through the hotels where you will find yourself on West Quay Road. From there, just follow the road to all the car dealerships and the venue will be located on your right, at the end of the Industrial Estate.
Southampton Central train station connects all the main stations in the South of England.
It is on the South West Main Line and also serves the Wessex Main Line and the West Coastway Line.

We are really excited to welcome you at EngineRooms. To make sure you’re having the best experience possible, you are welcome to let us know in advance you’re attending one of our events.
We do not have a designated accessible area nor a viewing platform but our staff will try their best to create a safe area for you to enjoy the night if possible.
We offer a free companion ticket for people who require a personal assistant (limited availability). Our events are fully standing (unless stated otherwise) so to help us provide you with the best possible service we advise you to email us a few weeks prior to your event.

Carer Ticket Policy
Carer tickets must be requested at the time of purchase. If a show is sold out and a carer ticket is subsequently requested, we will make every effort to accommodate; however, due to licensing restrictions, we cannot guarantee availability.
We accept the following forms of evidence:
– Picture of DLA / PIP
– Front page of Attendance Allowance letter
– Evidence that registered severely sight impaired
– Credability’sAccess Card(www.accesscard.org.uk)
Unfortunately we cannot accept any guide dogs in the venue for their own safety.
The venue does not have a designated parking area but there is plenty of parking on the street, with flat and easy access to the queue and the venue’s front doors.
Unisex wheelchair-accessible toilets are located on your right as you enter the venue.
They are locked to ensure their correct use, please ask any member of staff for the key at any moment during the night.
Our cloakroom is open on most nights so you’ll be able to leave your belongings in there if you so wish. However, we will be limiting the size of bags allowed into the venue (we do not accept anything bigger than A4).
Terms of Entry
18+ / Post-21:00 Shows
100% Photo ID is required for entry.
Must be a physical copy of Driving License or Passport, no photographs on phones will be accepted.
100% ID is required, regardless of your age.
Customers who do not agree with this will be refused entry.
Any ID found to be fraudulent will be confiscated. Under no circumstances will they be returned once confiscated.
This is in accordance with the venue’s licence and in the interest of our licensing objectives.
The above information is given to all promoters who are responsible to distribute the information efficiently. If you have any issues, please contact your ticket provider.
Live Performance Shows
The venue operates the following rules for Live Shows in accordance with our license:
All Live Shows have 14+ minimum age, unless otherwise stated.
All kids that look under the age 14 may not be allowed in the venue without a proof of age.
All under 16s must be accompanied by an adult over the age of 18
Challenge 25
Under the provisions of the Licensing Act 2003 it is an offence for persons under the age of 18 to purchase or attempt to purchase alcohol. It is also an offence for anyone to purchase or attempt to purchase alcohol for someone under 18 years.
If you are lucky enough to look younger than 25, you will be asked to provide ID to prove you are over the age of 18 when purchasing alcohol.
Date Protection Policy
For some events, you will be asked to show your ID and it will be scanned before entry.
We care about patron privacy and we remain transparent in what Patronscan collects, why it is collected and how we keep this information safe.
No personal data is provided to third parties outside of law enforcement and venue staff. Again, unless a patron is flagged, data is permanently deleted shortly after visiting an establishment
Patrons have the right to request what private information has been collected, used and/or disclosed by navigating to the appropriate privacy page, clicking on the “I want to dispute a flag” or “I want to check my info” buttons, located on our privacy policies, and by filling out a disclosure request form. Once Patronscan has received the completed form, a response will be provided within 10 business days.

Prohibited Items
The following items are prohibited in the venue and we will be disposed of on entry.
Show Times
Door opening times vary from show to show so please check the website for updates, show times will also be printed on the tickets on most occasions.
Set times may be listed on the venue’s social media pages as and when they are known to the venue.
Normally these are unknown until the day of the show, so they are often not released.
All times listed are subject to change and are to be used as guidance only.
Prescription Drugs and Medicine
We discourage bringing medication to the venue; however we do understand that for some people this is a necessity.
Therefore should a person attend a show with prescription drugs the following applies: A sealed package of prescribed medication of a small quantity is permitted providing that the persons name is on the label.
A prescription for the medication if possible should be brought with you if possible.
Any person with items that are deemed unidentifiable / not in the original packaging or of a large quantity will be asked to speak with the medics on the night who will assess the situation and the items may be removed until after the show and held in the medical room where they can be accessed if required.
Please be aware that security or the medic may request evidence on entry.
You may also be requested to speak with the duty manager.
A person who intends to bring into a venue medical sharps will be asked to discuss their usage with the duty manager & the venue medical staff, in a private area, to ensure that their condition requires immediate access to these items and to also ensure the customer is aware of how to locate and access an area whereby they can administer the required treatment without any concern.
Drug Policy
Engine Rooms takes a zero-tolerance policy towards drugs in relation to possession, dealing or using.
If you are found using any illegal substance inside of the venue, you will be asked to leave and will not be permitted to re-enter under any circumstance.
If you are in possession of any illegal substance during security searches, you will not be permitted inside the venue and will not be issued a refund.
Dress Code
We have a pretty flexible attitude toward dress code however, please make an attempt at effort, with sportswear particularly being scrutinised more than most.
In short, if you look cool, you’re cool.
Also, items of fancy dress may be confiscated if they are deemed to be dangerous.
Cloakroom
The venue provides a cloakroom.
Items such as bike helmets, backpacks, suitcases etc are not permitted in the venue
Please be aware that no items will be given out from the cloakroom without the matching token being presented.
If you have lost your token you will be asked to wait until the end of the event to collect your belongings.
Any items left in the cloakroom will only be kept for 1 week. After that, they will be donated to charity.
Camera and Recording Equipment
No professional cameras (with large or detachable lenses), video cameras or tape recorders are permitted in the venue unless you were issued with a Photo Pass by the venue or the promoter.
Should you be found to have these on arrival you will be asked to either take them back to somewhere safe or be asked to deposit them in the cloakroom.
Small compact cameras are allowed unless specified on the day of the show. For the satisfaction of other customer’s iPads and/or tablet devices are not permitted to photograph or film during any performances.
Customers who persist may be asked to leave the venue.
Booking Tickets
All advanced tickets should be purchased through one of the recognised outlets used by the venue, more often than not these are Skiddle (e-tickets), or directly from the promoter.
However occasionally events may be sold via other ticketing outlets, please contact us if you have any queries.
Please note you cannot purchase advanced tickets over the phone with the venue or directly from the premises, however on most occasions when the event is not sold out you will be able to purchase tickets on the door. Please check the event listing for details.
For non-received or lost tickets please contact the outlet that the tickets were booked / purchased through and not the venue directly. BEWARE OF SECONDARY TICKETING (Touts, Facebook, etc).
Fraudulent tickets such as cancelled & duplicated tickets can be sold on the secondary ticketing market and will not be accepted on entry.
The venue is unable to help with ticketing problems unless tickets are purchased with an authorised ticketing agent.
Admission, Refusals and Rejections
In accordance with licensing law, the venue has the right to refuse admission without providing a reason.
If you have consumed alcohol prior to arrival & appear to be in an intoxicated state or behave inappropriately in the queue or in view of the venue staff you may be refused entry without a refund.
Crowd surfing and the throwing of drinks are strictly prohibited in the venue and those who do this will be ejected without a refund.
In line with licensing law, the venue has the right to refuse admission to any patron without providing a reason.
There are no re-admission into the venue.
Lost Property
If you have lost items or left them in the cloakroom please message or call the venue with a description of the missing item, date of the show, contact details and any other relevant information.
The venue will check and if the item can be located will be in contact to arrange for you to collect the item.
We keep items for a maximum of one week, after this period they are passed on to local charity shops.
Valuable items may be held for a longer period of time. Items such as passports and ID’s etc. are handed to the relevant authorities if not collected within the time frame.

and is located opposite Ikea, in between all the car dealerships.
Parking
There are a few parking spots available in the streets.
There is also the Westquay Multi-Storey Car Park which is located 5 minute walk from the venue.
Age restrictions
EngineRooms is a strictly 14+ venue, with under 16s accompanied by an adult (over 18) for early curfew gigs.
Due to the venue licensing, late curfew club nights are strictly 18+ with proof required on entry : Driving License or Passport only.
You will also need to have your Driving License or Passport if you are attending an early curfew gig that is restricted to 18+ adults.
Children who appear to look under the age of 14 that arrive at a gig and cannot prove they are 14 or over may be refused entry. The duty manager will make this decision.
