Review of The Hertfordshire Wedding Show at Brocket Hall

The event was well held and vendors all nice. gave us good ideas for our wedding.

Really great event with plenty of opportunity to meet suppliers

Lovely family friendly New Year's party. The Oak Room is beautiful venue. The food was tasty. It was lovely to dance, even though the music was not the greatest. The combination of DJ and saxophone was strange. The fireworks were fabulous. We had goid time welcoming to new year.

Review of New Years Eve - Stay Up Late at The Oak Room

To begin with; it was an absolute nightmare to find 
When we go to the venue gates there was a board asking to go to another entrance; we got to that entrance and the gates were closed..,,.....we finally made it to the car park with lots of guessing where to go; why not tell us the full address beforehand 
The food was average; cold and not any sort of variety 
Music was off beat 
When I spoke to the DJ he said he would pick up the pace and play requests after 23:30; he never did 
The dance floor was bare........
Fireworks were good 
Not much to do for kids 
The advert said movies would be shown but that didn't happen they just played in a cold part of the venue; hitting each other with cushions 
On departure it was difficult to exit the venue as there were no signs or any staff to guide; for 2 adults and a child we paid £250; for that money expect a bit more!

Completely oversold on the event. Light show and fireworks in opposite directions so unable to watch both. Light display was som**hing from the 70s not a laser show. No stools or carol singers. DJ and absolute disaster and finished 2 hours early

Review of Brocket Hall Christmas Lights Switch On

Good afternoon

I am writing to you to share my feedback on the evening of the 21st November for the Christmas lights switch on.

After attending the Fireworks evening which was excellent my expectations of the Christmas switch on were along the same lines. We thought this would be a great ideas for a Christmas get together with friend and would get us in to a festive spirit. We are a family of 4 and we had an additional 15 people to our group to come along too.

Sadly it really wasn't what we thought it was going to be. I appreciate it was the first year but we were really disappointed and felt it was not value for money. The opening times was from 4pm till 9pm. Our friends arrived at 5:30 and by 6:30 there was nothing to do or see other than hang around. If someone arrived at 4 I am not sure what they would do to fill their time for the full duration.

We hoped that the laser show would be worth the wait so we persevered in the cold. Unfortunately this was a massive let down too, the laser show on the Manor House was just a projection of some images. We accidentally noticed behind us the opposite way some random fireworks going off. We didn't know which way to look. There was music playing by the DJ but it was quiet unless standing right up close to it and other music playing to the fireworks and lasers show again it was quiet and the two merged together.

After the laser show most people left.

We had teenagers with us and I would say the target audience should have been for families with young children.

I felt really disappointed having organised our friend meet up and they paid to come along on our recommendation, really on the back end of the firework display and previous good experiences.

We decided to leave and went to the local pub instead.

As a suggestion I feel the laser show could have been much better there are so many examples on YouTube showing led lights and lasers to music creating an atmosphere and fun.
I don't feel the fireworks were required.

Adding a big count down to a lights being switched on to a Christmas tree and maybe other trees in the area then followed by the laser show to music. Could include bit of fake snow being blown now and then, like the bubbles at the firework display. Maybe a couple of real reindeers on show.

There needs to be more stalls. Have local businesses and craft makers selling their products in pretty Christmas wooden huts along with the food and beverage stalls.

I really hope that this feedback is seen as constructive rather than a negative. Learning can be made from this. Overall Brock*t Hall always delivers in what they do and I think that is why this feels so disappointing.

Pleasant evening as last year but more options were available this year

Great event at a great venue. Family friendly activities through the evening and a really impressive fireworks display. We will definitely return next year.
