Review of Aberdeen's Official Oktoberfest - Fierce Beer x HW - SATURDAY

This was more like an Oktoberfest optional theme where I got the feeling not even the venue knew it was Oktoberfest. 

£23 quid for the event. Nothing included. No beer token for a pint which other places have done. 

Brass band was really good and that's about it. 

Oktoberfest beer. Not available for most of the night. 

Steins - had to pay a small fortune to reserve/buy cheap plastic steins - not for me. 

Did I make the most of it and enjoy myself. Aye. But it could of been done a lot lot better

First time to the Aberdeen Octoberfest. IMHO, thought Â£20  each was steep for a seat at a table, then having to queue for refills of steins when those with pints could order from the table...penalised twice when we had bought our steins upfront. No red wine for non beer drinker in our company. Atmosphere was great though...can we use our steins for next year...environmentally friendly etc...

Unfortunately this was nothing resembling Oktoberfest. No German beer. In fact beer ran out at one point and couldn't place orders. No Steins available. Girls walking about with c**ktail shots is not Oktoberfest And the Oompah band played covers. Admittedly they were good but no traditional oompah band music played . Having been to Oktoberfest for real perhaps I set my hopes too high but it was more like a 90s rave night Wouldn't recommend.

It's worth while, a lot of friendly mingles
