Rhythm Retreat is the 15th and 16th of June 2024.

 

Rhythm Retreat is located at Statfold Barn Railway in Tamworth.

The Rhythm Retreat code is as follows:

SKATES 

NO DIRTY, DAMAGED & OILED - SKATES OR SKATES WITH - DANGEROUS AXELS

NO AGGRESSIVE INLINE SKATES NO FLOOR MARKING WHEELS OR STOPPERS

ALL QUAD SKATES MUST HAVE 2 GOOD TOE STOPS, OR JAM PLUGS. ALL SKATES ARE CHECKED FOR RINK WORTHINESS IF YOUR SKATES ARE NOT UP TO THESE STANDARDS ON ENTRY OR ON THE RINK YOU WILL HAVE TO REPAIR OR REPLACE 

 

ENTRY 

WE RESERVE ALL RIGHTS OF ADMISSION NO PASS-OUTS OR RE ADMISSION WITHOUT TICKETS AND ALLOCATED WRISTBANDS.

BAGS WILL BE CHECKED UPON ARRIVAL FOR SECURITY REASONS AND TO ENSURE YOU ADHERE TO OUR NO FOOD AND DRINKS POLICY. (18+ EVENT) FOR SKATING NO ENTRY OR EXIT IS PERMITTED ON SKATES. 

WHEN INSIDE 

THIS VENUE HAS CHAIRS, STEPS, FLASHING LIGHTING, FREE STANDING PARTITION BARRIERS, SAFETY BARRIERS, AND RAMPS.

HAZE/SMOKE AND FLASHING LIGHT EFFECTS ARE USED DURING SKATING SESSIONS

NO PROFESSIONAL OR FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY WITHOUT THE PRIOR CONSENT OF ROLLOUT MANAGEMENT NO PHONES OR LISTENING DEVICES ON THE RINK 

NO CHEWING GUM ANYWHERE INSIDE THE ROLLOUT VENUE NO SWEARING OR ANTI-SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR NO SMOKING, E- CIGARETTES OR SIMILAR DEVICES INSIDE THE ROLLOUT VENUE. 

No outside food or drinks permitted while within the Rhythm Retreat designated areas.

Camping food and non alcoholic drink supplies are permitted but must stay within the designated campsite area.

Fully licensed bar and food vendors onsite for both days.

As a roller skating instructor for over 22 years, RoC has trained hundreds of thousands of new and seasoned roller skaters across the world. Now, as the creator of

'The SK8rFIT App' and host of the YouTube channel

'RoC's WorLd - Back2Basics', RoC is now taking his developed techniques and touring the world, teaching the masses how to level up!

PLEASE NOTE: This workshop is not a learn to skate class, therefore individuals must possess proficient skating abilities and have already acquired a moderate level of skill.

 

"Moderate" refers to something that is neither extreme nor minimal, but rather falls somewhere in the middle.

In the context of skill levels, being at a moderate level implies having a reasonable or average level of proficiency or competence in a particular activity.

Example, for this workshop, a moderate level means having enough skill to perform basic manoeuvres confidently but not yet mastering more advanced techniques.

Nadia, known as Sourgrapism, has over 12 years of roller skating expertise. As a part of The NC (The Next Chapter) skate collective, she instructs roller skating classes across the UK and Europe, aiming to elevate the sport & culture by fostering creativity, inspiration, and the exchange of knowledge.

Learn the foundations of ballroom skating with Alan and Korane who were taught by the source himself, the one and only Leo White from St Louis USA Leo White1wheel.

If you want something new to do to the slow jams, want to try out partner work, finesse your foundations, or to simply try something new. come to this class and have fun.

Coming alone? Coming with a friend? Coming with a partner? All are good! If you are coming solo you will simply be paired up with someone else in the class or with Alan & Korane.

This is a foundations of ballroom class so you need to be an intermediate skater to be able to participate

minimum requirements are, to be able to T-stop confidently on both sides and cross one foot over the other confidently on both sides.

In this class you will be learning:

  • The foundation U formation
  • The 'glide'
  • U formation and 'glide' with a partner how to lead and how to follow)
  • Partner signals
  • Then depending on how you progress if you pick that up quickly we can come to you to show you some cool turns and turn variations
