So Solid was only Romeo, not that I mind as heâs the best one but the Garage area was a bit of a let down. It wasnât very busy which let the atmosphere down. The Garage stage also closed early. 

Review of Noughty 90's On The Pier - Hastings 2023

We were there to see Norris Da Boss Windross & he didnât disappoint! The Old Skool Garage sets were good. The pop/chart stage was okay but played the same tunes over & over which was disappointing. 

The music was terrible 
Not exactly 90s just a version of it which they got completely wrong 
The drinks were poor quality and expensive
The atmosphere was wrong and security were aggressive
Overall really unhappy and I will not attend another

It wasnât as busy as I thought it would be, we didnât realise the headliners wouldnât be on until 5pm or later. The drinks were pretty expensive. I wasnât able to eat any of the food as I am gluten and dairy intolerant. There was a good vibe but I think if the headliners had started earlier it would have got busier and had a better vibe 

DJ Luck and MC Neat, So Solid Crew and Livin' Joy were missing from the line up when the stage times were announced. No explanation was given for their exclusion from the line up. The acts that performed were good overall although their sets had a lot of repeated tracks between them. The Kroud Karaoke set was a different kind of performance which heavily relies on crowd participation. I would have preferred an actual performance in their slot to be honest.

The venue is ok but being on a pier, it can get very windy at times. If the event runs again, it should be put on earlier in the summer. The bins were overflowing towards the end of the event and at one point during the Kroud Karaoke set, light up foam sticks were distributed across the crowd. It was disappointing to see no recycling bins as there was a lot of plastic waste generated by the drinks.

With a few alterations, this event could be brilliant. I have been to other similar 90s festivals and found that they were better overall.

Dead vibe. Ridiculous prices. Ridiculous ruling. Shoddy and a bit of a let down for someone travelling quite far
