The March Violets head to The Ferret as part of a handful of additional dates on their Unnatural History Tour Pt 2, following a successful run of UK shows this summer.

Formed in Leeds in the early ’80s and label-mates with The Sisters of Mercy, The March Violets became a fixture of the UK independent charts, reaching the top two with Snake Dance and Deep, and No.1 with Walk Into The Sun.

Their 1984 LP Natural History brought together the band's early recordings and remains a defining document of their original era, featuring tracks including Snake Dance, Religious as Hell and Crow Baby, alongside two John Peel session recordings.

For this tour, The March Violets will perform Natural History in full, alongside other classics, fan favourites and newer material.

The band's original run also included six BBC sessions – three for John Peel – before a major-label deal and an appearance in the 1987 film Some Kind of Wonderful. After splitting in the late ’80s, The March Violets eventually reformed and have since toured extensively across the UK, Europe and USA.

Far from simply revisiting their past, the band released the new album Crocodile Promises in 2024 and continue to record new material.
