DGKII Workshop

Kollectivity & bandskool are teaming up to run afternoon workshops on the afternoon of Sunday, July 19th (12pm-3:30pm). This is a promotional event with the aim of forming a second large Jazz ensemble aimed at players looking to gain experience of large bands and develop their musicianship. Said ensemble will be called DGKII after kollectivity's flagship ensemble, DGKollective (DGKI).

The workshops will focus on the disciplines of playing in sections, stylistic interpretations and improvisation within a large ensemble format. Professional player/teachers from the kollectivity pool will be in attendance to help cover their specialist areas.

All ages from 18 are invited to attend and are asked to acquire a ticket (FOC) in advance via skiddle and to provide some useful background information that may help with the planning of said workshops (please see checkout questions). Prospective players are advised to bring their instruments with them to the workshop (with the exception of drum kits and keyboards). Further information will be provided to attendees before the event date.

This is a great opportunity for players to get onboard with the kollectivity operation. As well as the regular fortnightly rehearsals, there will be opportunities to sit in with DGKI rehearsals on occasion and perhaps a chance to take part in its professional gigs also.
