Review of Jazz on Wick 2026

I had a good time at jazz on Wick, however there was not enough Jazz for me. I organise the London Loves Jazz Meetup and really into the London Jazz scene and new crop of jazz musicians coming out Tomorrow's Warriors, jazz:refreshed, Steam Down and the like. Apart from a few acts, the majority of  the music at Jazz on Wick I wouldn't classify as Jazz.  There was rapp, rnb, house, all sorts but the link to jazz was way too distant. I think it's misleading to name the event Jazz on Wick, why not call it simply music on Wick?

Unfortunately it was possible to access multiple venues without the tick*t, which many people did. Also the music was often not Jazz - so slightly confused. Great event if you don't get a tick*t and just stumble on it and have no jazzy expectations.

Music was really varied - not a lot of jazz. 
Venues didn't coordinate with each other on drinks, was annoying and expensive to not be able to move across areas with a drink when we had paid for a tick*t to a 'coordinated event'.
Felt just like a day out in Hackney Wick instead of a paid for event. Wouldn't go back or recommend.

There was very little actual Jazz music, very disappointing.

The wristband was almost entirely unnecessary for accessing most of the venues. Save yourself £40

Jazz on the Wick was such a vibe! Awesome music all around, all of the venues were filled up so the atmosphere was great and it was really easy to navigate between places! Had such a good time 😊
