Youth Lagoon is the stage name of the American musician Trevor Powers (from Boise, Idaho). His debut album The Year of Hibernation explores themes such as psychological dysphoria and mental distress, and is based around minimalism and hypnotic ambience. The Year of Hibernation was released on Fat Possum Records in 2011. Powers' music is a blend of "Americana" with atmospheric, experimental, and electronic elements.
