"Weekends Away" have their own extraordinary sound, taking inspiration from bands such as blink182, Green Day and Queen from there they have been able to create their own original sound. The band was created by Jamie Lane (lead singer) and David Montgomery (drummer) when the duo were in high school. Around this time they were going round venues and playing acoustic sets at events such as: The Edinburgh Fringe, Sing on the Bing and the Purple Orange impressing audiences with their alternative style of rock music. Later on Callum Race (bassist) joined now forming a trio. As a band the boys have been playing events such as "Party at the Palace" the famous music festival in Linlithgow.
